Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas – Kasbah of Ait ben haddou – Ouarzazate – Draa Valley –Zagora
From Marrakesh ‘ red city ‘ towards Ouarzazate, we will pass through the mountains of the High Atlas , natural rampart south of the imperial city of Marrakech. This is one of the most beautiful mountain roads in Morocco, it’s pass “Tichka” rising to 2260m, is considered to be the highest road pass in the country. Once arrived in Telouet, a visit is necessary to admire the famous Kasbah ” GLAOUI ”, the old Pasha of Marrakech. Lunch and continuation along the old caravan road who once came from Timbuktu. We join the famous Ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, declared by UNESCO in 1987 as World Heritage and where several movies have been taken, such as “ Laurence of Arabia” , “Jesus of Nazareth” , “Gladiator”,…etc. After a visit to the Kasbah we continue to Ouarzazate, the quiet and safe city that extends on 1600m in the middle of a desert plateau contrast. Lunch and we take the road again to Zagora, we will cross through landscapes of mountains with impressive cliffs and stone scree sometimes black and shiny. After the pass of Tizi N’Tnifite(1660m) the road go down to Agdez and join the Draa river, offering a beautiful view of the walled valley of countless Kasbahs and Ksour earthen. After Agdez we continue by the famous road to Zagora passing through the biggest palm grove in the world “Draa” 220 km length, 18 km of width and more than 1.500.000 palm tree. Get to Zagora, camels will take you to the bivouac where you will spend night in nomads tents under the thousands stars.
Day2: Zagora – Draa valley – Ouarzazate – High Atlas – Marrakech
Wake up early to watch the sunrise, have a breakfast and return on camels until Zagora to join our 4×4, we leave Zagora and we take the road again to Agdez passing through tens of villages where the inhabitants still live peacefully from resources of this wonderful valley. Arrive in Ouarzazate we take a coffee break and continuation by the famous road of the High Atlas Mountains (2260m). Lunch at Tichka pass and join Marrakech. End of tour
