Fes to Marrakech 4 Days & 3 Nights: Desert Tours & Camel treks
Day1: Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Erfoud – Dunes of Merzouga (Erg Chebbi)
Departure from Fes the morning. We cross the two mountain ranges of the medium and high Atlas on our way to the sand dunes of the South-east. The landscape changes from fertile agricultural plains to mountains dotted with cedar and deep gorges and palm groves before we arrive in the Presaharan Hamada. Upon arrival in Merzouga there will be 1 hour of camel riding and you will watch a wonderful breathtaking sunset over the highest dunes (150m) and you will arrive at your tented camp where you will spend a wonderful night under a thousand stars.
Before breakfast you will attend a magical sunrise, after which your camels will take you back to the hotel where you can take a hot shower that will make you forget all tiredness. Free day at the hotel where you can enjoy the pool with a superb view over the dunes or you can take also a little tour to discover the desert. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Day3: Merzouga – Erfoud – Toudgha Gorgs – palm of Skoura
After breakfast we leave Merzouga and we will take the road to Skoura through Erfoud with it’s 40 Kasbahs and 70000 palm trees.
On our way to the gorges of Todra we find small heaps of earth belonging to an ancient underground irrigation system , evidence that this desert was successful . Arriving at the famous Todra gorges we will be impressed by the 300m high vertical cliffs on both sides. After lunch we will continue to Skoura via the ‘’ road of a thousand Kasbahs ”. Dinner and overnight in a hotel in the middle of the palm grove.
Day4: Skoura – Ouarzazate – ait ben Haddou – Marrakech
After breakfast we leave Skoura for Ouarzazate, ‘’ City without noise ‘’, very well known for it’s quietness and it’s film studios where several movies have been taken, such as ‘’ Astérix & Obélix ’’ – ‘’ Kingdom of Heaven ‘’ – ‘’ Alexandre ’’ etc. We enjoy the quiet of the town for a coffee and take a walk and we continue towards the famous Ksar of Ait Ben Haddou which was declared by UNESCO as World Heritage in 1987, an excellent example of Berber architecture and traditional pre-Saharan habitat. Lunch and continuation to Marrakech via one of the most beautiful mountain roads in Morocco, its pass Tizi N’Tichka rising to 2260m is considered as the highest mountain pass in the country. The tour ends in Marrakech
